- Linked Web Storage Protocol 1.0 (
lws10-core), W3C Working Draft of 21 September 2026, on the Recommendation track. The draft also describes itself as "an unofficial proposal". - Solid Protocol version 0.11.0, 12 May 2024, a draft Community Group report of the Solid Community Group, not on the W3C standards track.
What is taken
Nothing in 1.0. B2 is informative in 1.0 and is to be drafted after it. The protocol defines authentication, authorisation with access grants ("a data object created by a storage controller, expressing an ability for an agent to perform specific actions on Storage Resources within certain defined constraints"), a storage description resource, containers and resource operations.
Why
Linked Web Storage and Solid are an optional storage binding: a person who already keeps data in a pod should be able to keep the record there.
What is extended
B2 will map Open Personal Context grants, which carry disclosure levels, renderings and receipts, onto access grants, and say what cannot be represented.
What is replaced or not used
The native provider store is the default; nothing in 1.0 depends on a pod.
Deviations
None.
Conformance checks
None in 1.0.
